I am writing out of pure astonishment in the diligence and persistence of your Loan Mortgage Specialists. I have been trying to refinance our home for nearly three years. I have applied for every option, every program and have been through every “hoop” out there to take advantage of these historical low interest rates. I take pride in the fact that our payments have never been late, with the exce3ption of the ONE time I attempted to pay online and although I had conformation number in hand, the payment was “never received”, so we went back to the check in the mail method.
My husband and I were sickened by the programs offered to those who failed to make their payments, rewarding those who made poor financial decisions and or chose to take advantage of the system and stop paying to get ahead. Yet, we were the ones who suffered the consequences of the foreclosures around us. Our home depreciated $96,000 in value and we were upside-down.
I knew for a fact that when I applied for one of the many programs out there, that I stumbled upon our address in the Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac system, but I was told that we did not qualify, that we made too much money or that our home was in fact, not backed.
One of your loan specialists helped me find my home in Fannie Mae’s system. Rather than just giving me the ol’ “sorry, you’re not in the system”, he encouraged me to get my tax bill and other statements out to see how they appear on paper. ONE KEYSTROKE. ONE character. ONE space was the difference of me being able to take advantage of the 105% LTV program or not. And HE found it. That Friday, his wife was scheduled to give birth so I was then introduced to another loan specialist. No big deal so far some may think. Wow, customer service! A lost art. I had gathered all of my paperwork, (a feat in itself) and Fedexed them to him. My heart was in my throat because he says we’re in there, finally, we can save some money and be rewarded for our hard work. I get a call from my loan specialist that the system that communicates with Fannie Mae doesn’t show my property- a familiar conversation. Here’s where the kudos come in. Nick spent 45 minutes on the phone with Fannie Mae and made them understand that it was only a keystroke that was keeping us from the refinance. He got it done, they accepted the property.
Quicken loans is apparently backing this loan. Ironically, I was solicited by them three days prior to Voyage and they told me in the long run, I didn’t qualify. I event called them back to tell them to type my address a certain way and, viola! There we were, but once the Fannie Mae system rejected the address, they didn’t want to play anymore. But, our Voyage loan specialist did. I still don’t believe that this is actually happening, and probably won’t until I mail my first check to the new mortgage company.
I wanted to say that you should be proud of your employees. They made a difference in my life—to the tune of $400+ a month. And although your rates weren’t as low as the others, I couldn’t trust that ANYONE else would do what your mortgage specialists did and help us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
