Voyage Home Loans rang in the New Year, and next decade, with a new company mission - to increase local, regional and global social good awareness. The company's goal is to accomplish this through direct involvement in goodwill endeavors, and by inspiring others to do small, charitable things within their own communities and share it.
Voyage has chosen to start the year off with this new directive by launching a social good campaign through the social network, Facebook. The hope is to spread the word to 500,000 new fans of their company page, Voyage Home Loans, and in return, grant sick children's wishes with funds their employees have contributed and the company has matched. Voyage will be revealing more next week about the organization they are working with to grant the children’s wishes, and will showcase the wish granting throughout the month of January.
"The lending business has been hit hard over the last couple of years, and with all the revelations of bad lenders and faulty loans, we really wanted to start a social good outreach and earn the trust of our community," said Paul Ueckert, President of Voyage Home Loans. "We have been very charity focused for the past few years, and now, our mission is to fully commit ourselves to our community, and the environment, accomplishing major goodwill endeavors throughout the year, and years to come."
Voyage Home Loans was formed from two smaller companies in 2007, and has grown to over 100 employees and several branches across America. Last year, the company was honored to receive an A+ Employees’ Choice Award, from the Sacramento Business Journal, as second place in the small business category. This year, the company hopes to increase its participation, involvement and partnerships with various organizations to at least four events a month throughout 2010.
"This year, we’re taking our involvement to a whole new level," Ueckert said. "We have been actively involved with local charities like the Sacramento Tree Foundation, UC Davis Children’s Hospital (CMN), the Police Athletic League (PAL), and various others. Now, with our company and our employees dedicated to this philanthropy, we’re bursting internally with new ideas every month for ways we can help. We’re hoping our local spark will spread as far as it can."
