This month, Voyage Home Loans Mortgage Specialist, Rita Reyes is a member and newsletter/sponsor chair for the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) in Sacramento.

This non-profit organization made up of network of successful realtors who hope to empower women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders.   Each year, the WCR holds events and makes contributions to charitable efforts.  This year the Women’s Council chose two charities Women Escaping a violent environment organization (WEAVE) and the Senior Gleaners.

WEAVE provides shelter for women and children who are in need of food and shelter after escaping abuse. Rita and the other employees at Voyage rallied to make sure that we made a huge contribution to WEAVE’s safe house and will continue the drive for the remainder of the year.

The Women’s Council of Realtors is holding a Golf tournament to benefit the Senior Gleaners organization.  Senior Gleaners are nonprofit organization made up of over 800 members, from 50 to 99 years old.  Their mission is to help reduce hunger in the community by collecting and distributing food to those in need.   Along with her newsletter and sponsorship chair positions in the Women’s Council, Rita has also committed to being the raffle prize chair for the golf tournament in which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Senior Gleaners.

In explaining why she volunteered her time for the golf tournament Rita said, “I sponsored a hole at the last tournament, but seeing how much needed to be done to put on the tournament I knew that next year I would commit to do more.  The Women’s council and the Senior Gleaners are both incredible organizations and I will continue to do everything I can to support them both.”

Voyage Home Loans and Rita are sponsoring a hole at the Golf Tournament this year.  Rita said, “It is going to be great fun for a great cause.”
